As an amateur singer I'm in awe of the professional opera singer! I really appreciate the aural treat b/c I know what's required. It is so difficult & obviously takes years of hard work, practice, coaching etc.
The main leads in Verdi's sad Troubador opera were simply amazing. The vocal range of the main female gypsy character was mind blowing...the control, agility, seemingly effortless delivery...And then the gorgeous tones of the lead soprano. Her singing above F or G in pianissimo killed me! It was so perfect & beautiful to my ears. The male voices were equally impressive. I just focus on the women b/c I'm a lyric soprano.
I'm just happy I'm able to see these glorious Met performances in lacey!
