This was a breathtaking performance by a stellar cast. Renee Flemming, as Desdemona was stunning and so highly skilled, every note was delivered with effortless precision and heart warming passion. Johan Botha, as Otello was a marvelous match to her precision and passion. Bass-Baritone, Falk Struckmann, as the villainous Iago, rocked the house at curtain call with a well deserved roaring ovation from not only the Met audience but also from the Santa Monica viewers. There were moments when the combination of Struckmann’s impassioned voice and sensational portrayal of evil incarnate drenched with self pleasure, made the hair on the back of my neck stand on end. Bravo! And kudos to the entire cast!
