An outstanding performance. Renee Fleming is still "The Beautiful Voice" (to borrow from the name of her CD). Johan Botha did a superb job of singing and acting on his return from a bout of illness. The look in his eye and quivering cheeks when enraged with jealousy showed how "into" the part he was - and these would not have been noticeable to the audience at the Met, as they sit too far back. Shows the benefit of seeing the opera at a theater. Falk Struckmann was wonderfully evil as Iago. Verdi's music is so powerful, as was the singing. The stage settings were very well done, and the backstage interviews during the intermissions were fascinating. Definitely a performance to see.
