Tears to my eyes when Fleming as Desdemona realizes she's totally trapped in an abusive and fatal relationship with Otello. Iago also fantastically evil. Otello authentically crazed, but I must confess that Botha's sphericality and copious sweat detracted a bit from the drama, especially when he collapsed in jealous rage, and sort of bounced. Not that I'm anyone to talk, sveltwise, but there are so many buff opera stars these days -- the ultra-closeup of the HD broadcast does not do the non-buff any favors. Fabulous singing, notwithstanding.

TRULY LOVE the backstage camera work during the breaks between scenes! These are SO interesting!

Encore November 14, well worth it.
