My older Sister took me to a Saturday matinee showing of Frankenstein when I was about 4 years old! This was the first movie I ever saw in a theater. . . and I've never forgotten it. Shall I say it made a BIG impression on me and ruined my sleep for a week. I just knew HE was going to 'get me'. As I grew up I became a classic movie monster fan and really like the old classic films with Karloff, Lugosi, Chaney (both Sr. and Jr.),Price, just to name a few. These were movies that had reasonable story lines and left the true horror to your imagination. (Perhaps the best technique! (Psycho style is just fantastic film technique by Hitchcock.) You never really saw anything. It was all developed inside you!
Seeing these two classics (Bride being the best technical production) fully restored on the big screen was great fun for me. Some younger attendees chuckled at the groans and moans by Karloff but I think they appreciated the fantastic classic laboratory scenes.
I had a great time!
