Watching Singing in the Rain on the big screen was a magical experience. Beautiful costumes, incredibly talented performers, not to mention all the fabulous dance choreography all bigger than life right in front of you; it was amazing. Donald O’Connor has excellent comedic timing and expert dance techniques that were never apparent watching the movie on TV. Gene Kelly was very handsome and I got chills watching him dance. You cannot find perfectly executed dance routines like we saw on Singing in the Rain any more. They had an interesting and amusing interview with Debbie Reynolds before the movie started and with other stars from the movie. The only criticism I have is that the theatre we saw it at did not seem ready and starting the show had complications. Once the movie ended the screen just went black. Some kind of a conclusion commentary was needed; anything to acknowledge that we had just witnessed a part of American history that would never be captured again.
