My husband and I were completely absorbed by this production and the wonderful interviews of the principle figures in the development and performance. The music itself reminded me of Gregorian chant and, through the repetition of Sanskrit sylables, became very meditative. This was in direct contrast to the action on stage which showed the actual story. The singing was beautiful and evocative of another place, another time, another culture. All in all this was a dazzling performance and, because of the filming from the Metropolitan Opera House, I felt as if I had the most expensive seat in the house.
