The young conductor Dudamel is surprisingly well coordinated with the orchestra players. Most, if not all, admire him, and even follow his physical movements! Brahms double concerto was very well played by the brother soloists.
Unfortunately there were only 4 (not 40) in the audience, and 3 after intermission. Too bad for the LA Philharmonic. They need to advertise better. I went to the 1st LA Philharmonic concert in a different movie theater in January, and it was well attended, more than half full.
