In a review you would expect to see a pleasant distraction from the hot afternoon. And this was all it was expected to be and more. Too bad it was from 2008, and the theatre chose to cut out the interviews and the intermission to hasten us out of our seats sooner? Yes the tickets were 6 bucks cheaper, but you would expect more from fathom events.
Alas I digress, the performance while sparsely attended, had everything that you would expect from the Met. The performers were spot on and moved me to tears not once, but twice.
Rarely is the play or opera so believable that you can immerse yourself in the characters and feel as if you are really there as friends and or lovers. This had both.
