Robert Pattinson's portrayal of Dali was spot on, but the real star was Javier Betran. His portrayal of Federico Lorca nearly brought me to tears, his pain was so complete. The movie reel died about 10 minutes from the end of the movie and quite a few people walked out instead of waiting the 8 minutes it took the theater to fix the problem. I am so glad I stayed, the ending of the movie was done very beautifully and completely confirmed for me that Rob is an excellent actor - he actually did bring me to tears.

If you don't know anything about them, it might be good to get an idea of Dali and of Lorca before you go. My friend that I took along with me knew nothing of either one so she was full of questions at the end of the movie. BUT, even though she didn't want to go with me (because of the possible homosexual tones in the film), she begrudgingly admitted that she thought it was excellent.
