A Haunted House

Michael Tiddes - Director Marlon Wayans - Producer, Screenwriter I really wanted to see this movie as it appeared to be a spectacular spoof. I was pretty dissapointed in that it turned out to be quite misogynistic. There were also an inordinate number of very negative homoerotic referrences. I fried made the point however that the genre that Wayans is spoofing glorifies the very same ideals. Very true but still not sure that Wayans himself wasn't buying into it hook line and sinker. Don't go unless you have a strong sense of where you stand on these issues. You might otherwise be really disturbed by what you see,

Not for This 63-year-old

It wasn't what I expected, which is usually a good thing. I won't give away any "plot" points, but this movie is definitely for teen-20s set. I did laugh out loud now and then, but not too many of the 20-or-so people in the theater laughed along with me. Guess my humor is for the older set. A good bit of bathroom humor (not my thing), and under the covers explicit sex. Go see it if those things appeal to you.

Overboard Sexual Content -- Not For Teens

Marlon Wayans carries the show with his typical, rib-aching parody. If you are a huge fan of the Wayans Brothers, you'll love the show; however, this movie is definitely not for kids or teenagers. Overboard nauseating sex-scenes and male butt shots, male gay nude scenes, and gang-bang (Mandingo) nude scenes. Even with your over 18 teens, as a parent, several scenes will make you want to crawl under your seat in embarrassment as the movie takes on an ambience of an on-screen porno. Cedric the Entertainer carried absolutely no weight in the film and whose presence was lost on the audience. His back-story made no sense and didn't contribute to the story or plot at all except to offend. Essence Atkins is very funny and works well with Wayans; however, her fake scary voices are best left in a Haunted House at Halloween. The movie was very funny as expected during the first half but lost its way and point towards the second half making you wonder when it will end. Rating should be XXX.

A quick review.

The trailer leaves a lot to be desired, I know; but the movie lives up to the "hype". The movie is really funny and everything you'd expect in a funny "horror parody". But sadly, that's the only thing that's positive about the movie. The movie lacks a true plot and an actual story that's captivating. But I guess that's comedy movies don't really need that. Marlon Wayans & Cedric The Entertainer are hilarious. If you like to laugh, I would recommend seeing this movie. It's a good time (: (don't bring kids under the age of 14 with you though).

I actually liked this movie, but I didn't laugh as often as I was expecting. There were moments in the movie where I knew was going to happen by just looking at the trailer and that (I think) give it away sometimes. It's a fun movie to go with your friends and just have a good time laughing about it and sharing your favorite parts because there will be some. It's a modern comedy movie where young audiences will like it even more with all the naked butts and crazy things that happens through out the movie. Well, I guess this is it. This has been my first review on Fandango, so if you liked my review and think of going to see this movie because of comments similar to mine. BE MY GUEST.
