    I'm on Vacation!

    by MedRed

Better than expected! This movies serves up the action in a big way! If you need a dose of testosterone, then look no further.

A Good Day to Die Hard, has a shallow plot, but makes the best of it with decent plot twists. The acting is also decent. What's evident is that Bruce Willis still has it. His acting was head and shoulders above Jai Courtney's. It seems that the Tom Cruises and Bruce WIllises of Hollywood still have a place until the younger guys can match their acting ability and athleticism.

This movie is no Casino Royale, but it will get your blood flowing. Just don't analyze plot points too hard and you will enjoy yourself.

If you like my reviews, add me as a fan. I'll add you back!

    Great Balls of Fire!

I liked the movie, didn't care for the subtitles throughout. Non-stop action from the beginning to the end but the story line was not as interesting as the previous Die Hard movies. I am a Bruce Willis fan and love all of the other Die Hard movies. There was a scene with an oops - his T-shirt is full of burn holes from flying debris, next scene it was almost a new T-shirt, and then the next scene there were burn holes just on the side. The IMAX version booms throughout the movie so you feel the explosions, of which there is no shortage. Overall good movie, just a little light on the depth. Definitely worth seeing at the theatre for that deep, booming surround sound.

A Good Day To Die Hard

Sorry, the movie sucked. Paid $26 bucks to take me & my girlfriend on ValentinesDay. I am the biggest Die Hard fan, but this was just Bruce collecting a pay check. Don't have the time to go into details, but PLEASE don't waste your money on this flick. Read the reviews. 'Nuff said"

    Very Energetic

Once this film got going it was non-stop action. There was no need for much dialouge since the bulletts were always flying and cars were wrecking. A good movie to see if you just want to sit back and enjoy.

    I've seen better

    by drsmoke

The action scenes, the chases, were great. The plot was thin- barely able to string together the action- and it wasn't believeable, even by Die Hard standards. Bruce is looking a little old (he didn't in the last one.) The supporting cast could have been better, but they were OK. Imax didn't contribute much to the experience. It was good during the car chases, but generally didn't add much- and it wasn't kind to Bruce at all. I'm glad that I saw it, but it closed the book on the Die Hard series for me.

    Great Fun! Embrace the Chaos!!!!!

What do the critics expect from the 5th installment of a 30yr old action franchise?!? Tom Hooper directing? Frank Darabont writing? Meryl Streep as the eye candy!?! Please.

This film is great fun. Nothing more, nothing less. It's worth your money, if you're not desperate for plausibility, emotionally compelling story, or characters. Kabooooooom!!!

An improvement over the last.. but still not traditional Die Hard.

    by Bobby_T

It didn't have the annoying kid from the Apple commercials and it wasn't about Cyber Terrorists. So needless to say this was a mass improvement and step in the right direction for the Die Hard franchise. Appearing again was the over-the-top unrealistic "yeah right" destructive happenings. With over embellished CGI to top it off. I think Die Hard has strayed from its roots in attempt to appeal to the Spiderman generation of movie go'ers. I'd rather see John hang on for his life on the tail of a helicopter or crawl through some vents than some ridiculous and impossible CG-filled scenario that makes him look more like a fictional super hero than the original gutsy guy... on vacation protecting his family.

    IMAX Sound System

    by md1611

The IMAX sound system made the explosions rumble in the theater but the rest was muddled. Had several times where I couldn't understand what was being said.

The movie is a good action movie but a poor Die Hard movie. Like most sequels it relies on viewers being familiar with the previous movies and doesn't bother to explain or make you care about the characters this time around.

    Don't Sleep

If you are a Die Hard franchise fan then this is a must see. Didn't waste time with a lot of back story; straight to the action and straight to classic John McClane. My one big stickler for the film was the length of the film itself, but as always, this is a Die Hard film with BIG action, BIG stunts, BIG comedy courtesy of Bruce Willis in his iconic character, and it finds ways to pay homage to the last 25 years of Die Hard without being corny. Forget what the critics say and go enjoy this movie.

    Bad Day to Die Hard

    by

As a huge fan of the first four installments in the Die Hard series, I am sorry to say that the fifth movie just does not cut it. It has some incredible action sequences to be sure, but the plot is paper thin and the cast around Willis was unimpressive. Sub-par at best, I was very disappointed.

    That's Enough, John McClain

How old is John McClain? He's been shot, stabbed, blown up, cut to ribbons, beaten half to death, and nearly nuked on multiple continents, and not only is he fit as a fiddle, he's still got a job with the NYPD. In the last movie, he had to make amends with his estranged daughter. In this movie, he has to make amends with his estranged son. In Die Hard Six, he'll have to make amends with his household pets. The movie had it's moments; McClain was funnier than I remember from the previous films and the gun play and explosions were good. None of it was good enough to justify IMAX charging $32 for two tickets in sad old Buffalo, NY. It's not like this was some cinematic masterpiece. Wait for the video.

    Passing of the torchf

I LOVED this movie. . .I had the feeling that they may have been passing the McClane torch to the Jai Courtney (great choice), it was worth it! Great in IMAX!!!!

IMAX Great sound good action movie.

It is what it is and that is a action movie. Me and my 17 year old son went to the IMAX showing and were not disappointed. Full of action from start to finish. Some of the writing could have been better for me, But that didn't take away from my movie experience. My son loved the movie. Over all if you like a good action movie and I have always found Bruce Willis to make entertaining movies I recommend this movie.
