Running about half a reel, A Game of Poker was released back-to-back with another Keystone comedy, Father's Choice. A friendly game of cards is reduced to comic chaos when Ford Sterling slips a few aces in his vest pocket. At first, his poker-playing buddies -- among them Mack Sennett and Fred Mace -- fail to catch on to Sterling's chicanery. But when they find out they've been cheated, it's every man for himself. Many of the gags in A Game of Poker would continue to resurface throughout the 1920s in such Mack Sennett productions as A Sea Dog's Tale. ~ Hal Erickson, Rovi
