I really enjoyed this movie. I thought that Tina Fey did a great job with it. I loved Lily Tomlin's character and she too was wonderful.

Worth the price of admission

Very clever movie that gets a little sappy towards the end. Lily Tomlin steals the show and Tina Fey continues to show how much talent she has. Very clever storyline. Anyone who graduated from Princeton should probably avoid this movie. Princeton comes across pretty badly in this film.

Cute little rom-com starring Fey and Rudd...

and that is pretty much all it is. If you are huge fans of Fey or Rudd, and I mean HUGE, you will find this slightly amusing. It wasn't BAD but it wasn't GOOD either. The story is just ok...it doesn't seem like these two should be in a movie like this. They do make the best of the script they got and what comes out on screen is an ok movie with two big stars. If you've seen every other Rudd movie, you won't mind this. I chuckled a few times. This movie is probably 90% drama and 10% comedy. Bored? Eh, give it a watch I suppose.

More serious than you might expect

Tina Fey turns out to be a competent serious actress in addition to being able to do slapstick comedy. Perhaps I was in a bad mood when I walked in but I was expecting a lighter story with more laughs. At least that's what the trailers had led me to expect. Overall, not a bad way to spend 2 hours but I didn't walk away feeling better than I walked in.

A Bit Akin To A TV Movie Without Commercials But Pleasant.

This is a modestly entertaining film with a basic formulaic screenplay. It's well executed and includes a surprisingly long over-due screen reappearance of Lily Tomlin. Sadly, Lily's character is unsubstantial and as a consequence, her performance here is little more than a cameo. While there's nothing much new here, the onscreen chemistry between Fey and Rudd is warm and believable. The story's a little weak but the total package is enjoyable enough to warrant a matinee ticket, even a DVD or steam rental. See it. You won't be disappointed.
