When I first saw the trailer for this movie, I thought it might be exciting, but not something I would pay eleven bucks for. Then I picked up the book for a plane trip, and suddenly changed my mind. The book was riveting, realistic (well as far as vampire stories go), and very well written. LIncoln sounded like Lincoln, and his actions followed that of a man who loves his country.
So, I went to the movie tonight, and most of the points were there. The action was great and the characters fit well, but the movie only followed the book like an outline. Pretty much going from boy, with the death of his mother by the hands of a vampire, to Vampire Hunter to eventual president. All the plot points in between were either switched around, left out, or completely changed. I still would go to see it because it was decent, but the book did a better job making this vampire hunter aspect more believable.
Like great book adapted movies, Lincoln should have followed suite. Oh well...

What an awesome movie!!!!!!!! The man looked a lot like Abe Lincoln! There was a lot of action and parts that made me jump. Wasn't too scary though.

After reading the book, I was not sure if the movie could live up to the book. Normally films disappoint me.
Not this one. They did a great job adapting the overall story line to the movie. It was a more gruesome and more action packed - just like you want in a movie.
If you liked the movie - you can read the book and still enjoy it.

Loved the action scenes and the incorporation of different history aspects, even if they are not all exactly true. If there had not been as much "gore" then it would have been for kids of all ages, its just a little scary when the vamps jump out at the main characters.

This movie was amazing, the makeup was great, the effects were awesome, it took me a bit to get used to the (SPOILER) Aging of Abraham and I thought it was a bit weird, but when I got used to it I was astounded at how well it was done! a must see!
