The novel, Abraham Lincoln, Vampire Hunter, written by Seth Grahame-Smith is a fictional biography, based on secret diaries written by the 16th President of the United States, Abraham Lincoln, which were given to the author by a vampire named Henry Sturges. The fight scenes were well done as was the overall cinematography (handled admirably by Caleb Deschanel). The CGI and stop motion was handled well and added to the overall feel of the fight scenes (with the vampires and in the war scenes). The best parts of the movie have to be the action scenes, which Bekmambetov directed very well. I really enjoyed the final credits rolling over a map of the United States being illustrated/drawn with blood. A very nice effect!
For those who are looking for an action/horror film, this is your cup of tea (blood really). For those looking for an authentic historical film about our 16th president, this is not for you, but you might enjoy the novel. It was far more satisfying then this film.

I really enjoyed this movie. There was a lot of action, the Vampire were horrible looking and that's a good thing. It's fantasy, Okay! Just sit back and relax and enjoy the movie.

I rented this movie and never expected the action and great acting. Brian Walker is great and he looks a lot like Liam Neeson. I am not really into vampire movies but I have to say I really enjoyed it, even though it has nothing to do with the true life of Our president Lincoln.

Saw Abraham Lincoln Vampire Hunter tonight with Ron Malone. First let me say that Benjamin Walker was great as Abe. The movie was good...really good (solid B+)...but.... I saw the regular version (not the 3D version). There were several scenes in this movie that were clearly for 3D purposes. Some of these effects made for a better movie (slow motion ax slinging...) while others I could have absolutely done without (the horse scene!) I read the book ABRAHAM LINCOLN: VAMPIRE HUNTER by Seth Grahame-Smith and absolutely loved it. I was excited to see the movie, especially when I found out that Seth Grahame-Smith was a screenwriter. I knew there would be changes from the book but I really feel like there were some changes that were an injustice to the novel. I will not go into those things here b/c I don't like to give any spoilers. Overall I really enjoyed it and I would definately recommend the book and the movie...so read it and go see it. :)

I have been looking forward to this movie ever scene I found out they were making it! I loved the book and I like most of what Tim Burton has a hand in. The action was great! The costumes were great! The CGI and make up could have used some work but over all the movie was excellent!
