This movie was excellent with lots of action and little gore, the one who played Lincoln was great, the fight scene on the train was well done but was not my favorite part my favorite part was the end where the vampire that picked Lincoln to help him pick a new man to help him.
I am only two chapters into the book and even only being a little bit into the book I saw big differences but I still will say if you liked the book this movie is a must see you won't be disappointed and even if you haven't read the book go see it if you like a great action movie
The 3D was worth the extra price so if you have to choose betweeb stard and 3D go for the 3D

Not sure what to expect with this movie at first. The story is fun as it weaves the battle for our country with the presidency of Abe Lincoln and the good vs evil of humans and vampires. I liked that it did not try, like so many other movies, show a coexistence plot. Neat little takes on vampire lore and such. The movie got the Vampires right in my opinion making them less obviouse.
Hope you enjoy the action and the decent story.

This movie was ok. I thought it was going to be better than it was. I'd give it a 6.5 out of 10. Fight scenes were pretty good, story was ok. Main character looks like a young Liam Neeson..

I must admit my curiosity regarding this movie was piqued when I first saw the preview....actually my exact words were..."really Hollywood is definitely running out of ideas!". I did my patriotic duty and decided to see this movie on independence day which was a congruent theme throughout the movie. To add to the visual pleasure I even saw it in 3D which in itself took it to another cheesier level.
As a history buff and vampire Stan (stalker +fan), I was presently surprised and really enjoyed this movie. It had suspense, drama, romance, gore and some folly that only a true movie buff could appreciate.
Hey maybe in a hundred years Hollywood will do the same for Barrack Obama...just a thought :)

The movie was fun and campy. Great action and effects. A 3D that worked. But it was barely based on the book, which worked because of the very clever way it tied to historical events. The basis of Lincoln believing in the bloodsuckers is nuanced and logical in the book - building from events relating to his grnadfather, other relatives, and the backwards 19th-century Indiana world he lived in. And Mary was still neurotic and nuts in the book - not a Blackwidow-wanna-be? But the movie was fun!
