Friday Night Lights screenwriter David Aaron Cohen pens this made for cable sports drama exploring the career of sneaker magnate Sonny Vaccaro (played in the film by Sopranos star James Gandolfini), who rose to infamy in the sports world after signing Michael Jordan to a million-dollar Nike endorsement deal. Vaccaro, who was widely regarded as a thorn in the side of the NCAA as a result of his efforts to outfit college teams in brand name shoes, would also play a pivotal role in launching the careers of such NBA stars as Tracy McGrady and LeBron James. ~ Jason Buchanan, All Movie Guide
