In this poetic meditation on the life of a dreamy child, the orphaned Yekta is the rather spoiled ward of her grandparents. They live together with a crippled seagull in a house along the Bosporous straits. As Yekta so often plays alone, she has developed a vivid imagination, full of mythological content. None of this bothers her grandparents.
