First off, this movie is filled with amazing cinematography and vistas...your eyes will not be
disappointed, especially if, like me, Australia is a lige-long dream destination.
That being said, while the movie jerks back and forth between a wide range of topics - from the attack on Darwin by the Japanese during WW II to racial and ethnic discrimination, to life on a remote cattle station, to slavery, to family life and of course the obligatory romance, the production team did an excellent job of weaving them all together nicely, so that you are not lost at any time in the movie. There were quite a few times during the movie when I was reminded of "Medicine Man" with Sean Connery - but it wasn't a distraction. The chemistry between the two primary stars is unmistakable and convincing and certainly a delight for the eyes!
Overall, a wonderfully put together movie with enough drama, romance, adventure and action to keep it well balanced for the better part of the 2:45 run time.
