Thank you, Thank you to so many movie theaters for brining us Live in HD from the Metropolitan Opera. The broadcasts are in some ways better than being at the MET in person, with their attention to detail and all the extras that one doesn't get during a live opera performance. Start with unobstructed views of the stage, wonderful subtitles of the text, and the ability to enjoy a cup of coffee or even bring your own snacks to the theater, Add to that the knowledgeable host and explanations of the culture and history depicted in the opera's story, the close ups of the orchestra, backstage set changes, and interviews with the cast members before and even during the performances. MET broadcast are awesome! thanks!
The Met broadcasts are first rate!

All of the extras features that are available on film but not in person greatly enhance the experience - not only subtiles and a synopsis of the story from the host, but also interviews with the principals, discussions of the character development and the composer's intentions, backstage observation of set changes and close ups of the orchestra. ...(read more)
