My six-year-old grandson and two-year-old granddaughter were totally invested in the story and characters, She exited the theatre saying, in a much-too-loud voice, "I loved Holy Crap!!!" I do believe they said, "Holy CraB," but who can argue with a two-year-old who KNOWS what she heard?! The six-year-old, who loves to read the credits, said, "Can you believe that JENNIFER LOPEZ did the voice of Shira??" Frankly, I almost dozed a couple of times. I do have a complaint about the theatre where we saw the film, UA Court Street, Stadium 12 on Court Street in Brooklyn: they turn the sound up so loud that it not only interferes with the enjoyment of their films but I fear it will damage the hearing of the young kids who attend their films. Much more frenetic than the other Madagascar movies, and the movie house where we saw it had the sound up so high that it bordered on being harmful to young ears. One got the feeling that the creators of the film were so hysterically trying to top the previous Madagascars and so deathly afraid of losing anybody's attention that it became annoying. Frenetic and hysterical would be my brief description of the film itself, although the characters were still as lovable as ever. ...(read more)
