It is unfortunate that the screenwriters elected to show this amazing woman's life through the lens of her current state of dementia. A straightforward account of her rise to world stature would have been more interesting. Too much time was wasted in her musings with her imagined husband...and not enough about her own accomplishments. This could have been a much, much better film. Streep is so believable as Mrs. Thatcher and ages incredibly. She deserves a better vehicle. ...(read more)
I don't think this is the masterpiece folks claim. Spielberg uses every dramatic trick in the book to make this depressing story more warm and fuzzy. No body asked the horse what he thought. It is another 'war is hell' movie with a gorgeous horse being horribly used and mistreated. ...(read more)
