LEONARDO LIVE WAS everything we hoped for and more.
The theater was packed with adults, and
the show is suitable for children who can sit still for 90 minutes. Presenters were knowledgeable and shared their enthusiasm for the exhibit.
The paintings were shown in overview, viewed closely again in discussions of Leonardo's life and work, and revisited at the end of the film as we do in person before "exiting through the gift shop."
Five years of negotiation, persuasion and diplomacy went into arranging the loans of these works of art. Curators & experts examine each incoming piece, and the lender signs off on a description of the artwork's physical condition. Crated and protected frames are wheeled into the galleries. Special frames are created. We see a painted copy of The Last Supper, much more vivid than the now deteriorated original. Mona Lisa stayed in Paris, but we saw her too.
We are eager for more blockbuster art exhibits like this one - bring them
