I have seen all of Daniel Craig's Bond movies and many of the older ones as well. This one is at the top when it comes to action, suspense, intensity, and all-around entertainment. I was really entertained by this film and it will be interesting to see how the next films in the series will stack up to this one. I thought the 'Bond Girl' didn't get much time on film - they took her out quickly but bringing back Money Penny - that was a great idea and I like the actress playing her part. I hope they keep her on in the next films. I don't want to spoil it for those who have not seen it, but there is a sad and surprising ending. Javier is one of the more 'interesting' Bond villains. His character make you feel more than slightly uncomfortable which adds even more drama to the film. For me, it's a go see. ...(read more)
Regardless of critical reviews I go to Madea movies for one reason-laughs. Madea is just funny-seeing her makes me laugh. Of course, I expect certain elements in the Madea films. There are some spiritual elements and the family turmoil resolution via Madea's intervention. The movie starts slow to set up the story line and it just wasn't funny to me. As always I waited in anticipation of seeing Madea and when she comes into the picture the laughs start. It took forever but I liked the airport and traveling scenes-best parts of the movie. The outtakes at the end of the movie are hilarious and should have been included in the movie, while some of the more boring scenes should have been left out. If there is going to be another Madea movie, Tyler Perry really needs to concentrate on her traveling and her behavior in hotels, etc. and he really needs to keep the focus on her character. I rate this a So-So only because some parts of the film are not funny. ...(read more)
I have seen all of the 'Madea' movies because I find her character funny. There are some funny moments in this film, but her character is never fully developed as usual. Perry's formula of taking serious (often 'disturbing') subject matter and 'using' the Madea character to bring in audiences is getting old. This formula was very successful but I was more than a bit frustrated with this film. The subject of paternity in relation to Madea's daughter should have been left out completely. There were many glitches in this film and it looked like Perry made it quickly just to make a buck. The inappropriateness of Madea referring to herself as a 'whore' is degrading and removes any dignity her character represents. Her character is already funny, so degrading her does not help his films. You are really left hanging at the end. Perry should more fully develop the Madea character in a positive way, keeping the focus on her instead of throwing together a collage of foolishness. Rent on DVD. ...(read more)
