Bottom line? The movie was good... but it has some issues. Mostly in length & breath. Not so much length... perhaps more in breath. For a very cool concept, the story seemed to move very sloww in places it shouldn't. And I'm a fan of letting a film breathe when it should ("Cast Away" w Tom Hanks is a perfect example). A good film doesn't require car chases, bombs and constant action... especially with a good story and good acting... which this film had. If a film ever called or needed a unique Cage portrayal, THIS one really did!! There's a definite market for this type of fare. "Pirhana" suffered from the same lack of camp commitment recently. Had allll the right ingredients, except THE most important one. And without a good TONE, who's gonna watch and listen? Judging by the near empty seats in my theater, the audience hath spoken! Fix this!!! ...(read more)
