I thought this Sherlock Holmes movie was going to be too violent for me, but my husband was
definitive & I had a coupon & the night off, so we went. I was pretty sure I would enjoy Robert Downey, Jr., & I most certainly did (yum!), though his accent wasn't as spot-on as I'd have liked. Jude Law was fantastic, & their chemistry was tangy, almost romantic, so this mama was happy strictly by the masculine visuals. What surprised me was how much I dug the physical visuals, too -- the special effects were just brilliant (once I got past the first fight scene, which was shot too fast/gritty/weird for me). With the exception of the Gypsy female character, who rocked, the other two female characters were pretty disappointing, but I didn't see the first movie, so perhaps I was missing some continuity there.
Every time we got to a plot adjustment that told me we still had more to come, I got excited. This is a movie that does not disappoint. Well worth the money & the time, win-win.
