This is obviously a low budget/independent film for adults. There are a lot of high notes in this
dramedy. To me Marla Gibbs stole the show. I thought I was going to see a comedy and I came away with a lesson learned. Go see the movie and see if you get the message. There were a couple of slow moments, but I thoroughly enjoyed the movie.
This is truly a girls night out movie. It provides you with a roller coaste ride of emotions.
Dakota was great as usual and Alicia Keys gave a very convincing performance. There were some slow moments in the movie, but over all it was very touching and it gives you a glimpse of what used to happen to minorities in the south. Not to say that it doesn't still happen on occasion.
