I had glanced at one review prior to seeing this movie, which gave it 4 stars, and commended the
performances of the actresses, so I was completely unprepared for this experience. I found this movie to be very odd. My husband slept through virtually all of it, as did one of our friends. The movie starts as a "cartoon" experience, with the charaters nothing more than caricatures, and moves progressively toward reality as the movie progressses. It's theme that love is the only real experience in the world is hard to argue, but only replaces the slapstick quality in the last third of the movie, when it becomes entirely too predictable. I think the most I can say about it is, performances good, and it's a cute movie -- often a little bit too cute.
