Is the only explanation for giving this a favorable review. This movie is un-imaginative, poorly
done(saw better stop-motion done by classmates in college RTF classes) and downright boring! My 7 year old who is a big movie buff(has watched full length movies from the age of two), turned to me at the 20 minute mark and said, "Dad, are you enjoying this movie?!" later, she just simply proclaimed it terrible and boring. Seriously one of the most boring movies I have seen in a very long time.
Predictable - YES
A bit touchy, feel y - YES
FANTASTIC music - YES
A tear jerker(tears of joy) -
My 6 year old wanted to see this(she is quite diverse in her love of movies), so we went to see this yesterday. I absolutely loved the movie for what it was. I don't mean ANY disrespect, far from it. I believe the intent of this movie was to lift your heart with the "Joyful Noise" of terrific music and the observation of believable people in a small, impoverished, Georgia town grasping on to something to believe in.It absolutely accomplished it's goal! As a Father of two girls, I was choked up on more than one occaision, while my 6 year old hugged me and comforted me! That experience alone made it a "Must Go" for me and will deliver to you also, if you go not expecting a deep, heavy drama. Bring tissues... :)
