This was my first concert to watch at a movie theatre. I've never been a big queen fan, but I have
always loved Paul Rodgers. He's easily one of the top rock frontmen of all time.
When we got there, the sound wasn't up nearly as loud as it should have been, which didn't help the fact that the first thirty minutes of the show were a bit slow in getting off the ground. But once they hit their acoustic set, it was FANTASTIC. The included some Paul Rodgers classics from both Free (Alright Now) and Bad Company (Bad Company and the obligatory Feel Like Makin' Love).
The crowd was massive (from the Ukraine) and made the night even more electric. It made me want to go out and discover Queen's music again.
Now I know that the point of the concert was to raise finances for HIV/AIDS research, but the near worship of the late Freddy Mercury was a little creepy. Other than that, the concert was definitely worth the cost of the show and I can't wait for the DVD to come out.
