As always, the Met HD broadcasts are superb. Mozart's last opera, La Clemenza di Tito, was
performed in a wonderful production broadcast live.
However, the sound in the smaller theatre at UA Greenwood Village was set a a very low volume level, and the quality of sound was dreadful. You cannot use the same kind of sound for Met broadcasts that you use for Wreck-It Ralph.
If UA Greenwood Village is going to charge $22-24 for these productions, they should invest in a good sound system or use their larger theatre for Met broadcasts, which actually has decent sound.
I want my money back. Not for the production, but for the sub-par sound quality. Shame on you, UA Greenwood Village.
Another outstanding HD broadcast from the Metropolitan Opera. Peter Gelb has made a huge
difference in the world's accessibility to the great operas and artists at the Met. Fabulous singing from all the principal singers- Netrebko as Anna, Gubanova as Jane Seymour, Abdrazakov as Henry VIII. We came home an immediately looked up the history around Henry and his 6 wives. What a bloodthirsty, power-obsessed man, with a powerful portrayal by all. The Met orchestra is world class, and the staging by David McVicar is very compelling. We look forward to more HD broadcasts and encores- we'd never see so many operas otherwise!
