I really enjoyed Seth Rogen in "Knocked Up" so it seemed like a no brainer to me to see "Zack and
Miri" so my expectations were somewhat high. I was surprised at the end that it was Craig Robinson who made me laugh the most! He is definitely worth the price of admission to see! Seth and Elizabeth Banks are a fun couple and the development of their relationship is enjoyable, albeit predictable, to see. You get the feeling of the "Full Monty" from a plot perspective (actually it is quite a ripoff of that plot!) so if you like Full Monty you will probably also like Zack and Miri. I don't might an "F bomb" every once in a while but when every other word is an F bomb, it gets old. Well, it got really old in this movie.
So, my bottom line is to wait for this to come out on DVD and go to Blockbuster to rent it.
If you like slapstick and a little dumb dumb humor, you will LOVE The Rocker! I know I did!! I
have never heard of Rainn Wilson before (I don't watch much TV) and I was amazed (and on the floor laughing) at his character and great acting. And after seeing Christina Applegate in Anchorman, who wouldn't want to see her in any movie?!! (but I guess that is more of a guy thing) But anyway I had low expectations going to this movie due to the reviews (what do these people know anyway?!!) and we all came away having thoroughly enjoyed the one hour and 42 minutes of this fun comedy. "All" meaning my wife, 80 year old mother-in-law and our 21 year old daughter. So yes, this movie also appeals to all ages! I will certainly be adding this one to my DVD collection!
I you like Will Smith, you will enjoy this movie but don't expect a lot of great acting and action
special effects. The story was unique but is was pretty disjointed with a weird twist that kind of came out of nowhere. But I would say it is worth your time and money.
"Wanted" has great action scenes, some Matrix-like incredulous happenings and a lot of fun humor.
You need to go to the movie with the attitude like you were going to see Star Wars or the Matrix (i.e., knowing that you will be seeing some "fantasy" and incredulous stuff). Excellent acting by James McAvoy kept you interested in the movie (especially all of the humor he injected). And Angelina is always fun to look at (especially if you are a guy).
The story (albeit incredulous) is kind of cool and has some interesting twists.
Well worth your time and money on the big screen!
