If you are going to see this movie because you love Tom Hanks movies you will be disappointed. His character is killed in 9/11 in the beginning of the story. If you are going because Sandra Bullock is beautiful and you like to watch her, I hope you will still find her beautiful in her grief and pain. BUT...if you can appreciate the uniqueness of one brave child, and if you like stories that are inspiring without being unbelieveable, this is your movie. Thomas Horn is wonderful as Oskar, the autistic and brilliant little boy who personifies courage as he pushes through his nearly paralyzing fears to undertake a journey he believes will keep him feeling connected to his dad. No, he doesn't become a different person, he becomes a stronger one. The writer doesn't give you an unbelievably happy ending, but he does give you an uplifted heart as you see Oskar triumph over things he fears.
