Overall the plot was underdeveloped and predictable, and the acting won't win an Oscar but it was a
clean, fun, family movie with some cool 3-D effects. The plot was very predictable. My 9 year old loved the 3-D effects that were just on the edge of being cheesy and overdone for an adult - but perfect for her. If not for the 3D effects I would rate it as a "so-so" but the 3D makes it worth seeing in theaters.
Thinking about taking your kids to see this movie? Think again. Who thought a perpetually suicidal
character would be an good idea for a kids move??? The animation is horrible, the theme although presumably ending well with good triumphing over evil - I doubt that kids will get the supposedly overall good theme as it gets buried in suicidal characters, a female character who seduces mad scientist for the purposes of giving the ideas to her boyfiend and a generally dark theme. I came very close to walking out of the movie with my kids in tow.
Despite my feelings on the movie - neither of my children (9 and 5 yrs old) thought the movie was good. My 9 year old summed it up when we were walking out of the theatre when she said "It was kind of stupid"
