I've been told and retold the origin of Spider-man since the mid sixties and while I'd prefer to hear another story that doesn't involve the origin, I felt this was a worthy reboot. The characters are a little more human (even the ones who don't stay very human for the entire length of the film). And the film is a little darker than the past few attempts. They explored a little bit more of what a kid who was bullied for years, may suddenly act like when gifted with superhuman powers. I was happy with the casting especially Emma Stone who is a very talented young actress that I expect will be a popular screen entity for many many years to come. There is a lot of good things going on during the film and show a lot of fans of the comic were on board. Throughout the film I noticed several poses and framing of Spider-man that were directly taken from the splash pages and comic covers. I didn't go myself, but my daughter (almost 10) enjoyed it very much.
