I missed this when it was at Theatreworks, live, and with local talent (that went along to B'way
eventually). Always rather regretted it but had no way of rectifying that until this came out. Yay!
I miss sitting with other appreciative patrons. No matter how loud we clap at the cinema, the cast can't hear us, so no one bothers. Didn't realize I'd miss that instant feedback after each and every song-n-dance until it's not there.
But oh the close-ups! I can't afford orchestra seats and so I miss most of the nuances that really make a performance. More often than not I'm mystified by the laughter from the people with better views at live performances. Using binoculars makes everything in viewing field bigger but seriously limits said field. Watching a recording of a performance is kinda the same: I see only what the cameramen and the director want to show. But hey, what I can see, I see very well! I'd see this again if it's, somehow, close-ups *and* a wide, full-stage shot.
