The modern version of this marvelous opera is stunningly staged, with elegance and simplicity.
CHANGE is good for us, and it compels one to enjoy a more contemporary staging of this work. The music is memorable and the voices aremagnificant. The entire opera is mesmorizing and one is gripped by the storyline and its reality. It is shorter than many operas, and I found myself totally absorbed by the unfolding of this work. A must see! A real joy!
Without a doubt, my first - ever experiencewith seeing the Met in a movie theatre was a most awesome
and lively experience. It was beautifully done and I felt that I was literally sitting in the Met. Comfortable chairs, warm camraderie with other opera-lovers, and a great sense of the thrill of the story line....a wonderful memory! The voices were all beautiful...but who could not rave about Placido?! WOW!!! It was a delightful afternoon, a beautiful first, and will definitely be continued.
Thanks for allowing me to share my impressions. Niceto know it matters.
