30,000 years ago, our forebears were compelled to make art in Chauvet Cave.
Cave hunters were
compelled to find the cave, Werner Herzog was compelled to make a movie about it, and we join the compulsion when we view still or moving photos of the cave and its paintings.
It is this compulsion that is our connection to the creators of the art.
There aren't "enough" paintings to justify the length of the movie, yet the very length and repetition of this movie deepen our impression of the paintings. They will stick with us.
Modern (read "weird") music and too many words from the "experts", not all of them pertinent, are a distraction.
But it's something you should see, and see it in 3D.
