Ok, have to admit I loved the book more...but how can you lose with such a beautiful movie. My kids
liked it although my daughter (5) thought it was too sad and scary, my sons (9 &13) thought it wasn't scary enough! I liked it. I think it is sad that Paul Blart - while a fun movie, blows away a movie all about the power of imagination and the written word. I was also upset about the ending...I bet they caved to preview audiences, but I can't prove it.
Go see this, then do yourself a favor and read the books (and read them to your children!). I hate that this probably didn't do well enough to merit the making of Inkspell...what a shame. Beautiful movie, lots of heart and great acting (Paul Bettany - HIGHLY underrated, should get many more parts! I adore him.)
I adore John Cusak, and Steve Buscemi is funny as always..but my children found the movie a bit
disturbing and just downright creepy at times. I was bored out of my mind and the story was so obvious. The animation was ugly...what can I say? Not a good one. Sorry folks, I really wanted to like it but the overall feeling was YUK! We won't be watching this again.
