I made the mistake of reading the book before I saw the movie. I was pretty annoyed by all the
changes being made (changes that would have fit perfectly into the movie--changes that were major parts of the story). In such an example in the book Hanna gets mad at Michael and throws something at him that busts his lip while they are on vacation. In the movie they don't show this at all, they just show Michael sitting on a river bank with a busted lip and how he got the split lip is not even explained. They edited out the Hanna-Michael split lip fight scene. Someone who didn't read the book would think that the actor had a herpes outbreak or something during the filming. Aside from the many changes, it was still a good movie. Winslet and Kross did an amazing job despite the fact that the movie was watered down and changed drastically from the book. Finnes was annoying as always.
