The file wasn't for me. The actors did a great job, the singing was nice, the cinematography was well done. Sadly, the film runs out of steam a little more than half-way through and you really start to notice that film is nearly 3 hours. I did get a kick that everyone in revolutionary France had distinct English (UK) accents, but that was probably due to the film being based on the London-version of the musical. ...(read more)

In general, I am still a bit disappointed in the 3 film decision here, but all-in-all I am sure sum total of all films will be great. I wasn't planning on seeing this film in theaters, but I am satisfied. The Hobbit is as expected, beautiful scenic shots, some action and lots of special effects. The film in general does a nice job providing enough content as well as leaving you wanting more. If you enjoyed the Lord of the Rings films, you will probably enjoy the Hobbit as well. ...(read more)

Overall the film was worth seeing. Granted you had to pay attention through out the entire film to connect the characters and piece together the message -- not a tremendous challenge. Granted the dialogue of the future timeline was terrible corny, but the characters made it worthwhile. Watching how characters did or did not develop throughout the time lines was interesting and picking out each point of change and then reflecting on it afterward was the fun part. The time jumps can get a bit much, but in the end they reconcile comfortably. ...(read more)
