A delight for both music lovers and beautiful production values. Aside from the brilliant voices
and sumptuous score, the settings and costumes were more than splendid. The entire production was a feast. Catch the encore if you missed this broadcast.

One of my favorite operas in a stirring Zeffirelli production. It was a joy to listen to. Best of
all in the Encore presentation is that the opera played straight through with no intermissions. The evening was smooth, the program over at a reasonable hour and there was no interruption of the performance. Great voices, moving acting and stunning settings. Loved it!
This was, without a doubt, the best of the season. Thrilling, exciting, beautiful, powerful and it
never let up. One of the best interpretations and brilliantly directed. The voices, the orchestrations, the settings and all the players were top notch. I am seeing it twice just to get my fill. You may never see a more exciting opera presentation again.
Wonderful presentation of a beautiful opera. Finally, one I could see. Wish they were all as
brightly lit as this one. It was a joy to sit through and listen to. I hope future presentations will be lit as well, too many in the past have been so dark that it was impossible to enjoy.
This is one of my favorite operas so it was such a disappointment to have the broadcast so flawed
so many times. Sound kept dropping out, video image kept freezing, lines and glitches all through the program. I realize these things are sometimes unavoidable, but it still marred a brilliant production. Secondly, and I've mentioned this before, why must the video broadcast be so dark? I am sure the audience in the Met sees a lot more than we do. Is it the lighting or the video cameras which render a lot of scenes much too dark to enjoy. If this keeps up I would rather stay home and listen on the radio.
As always, the Met Live in HD was a success. Best of all is the comfort and ease in attending. No
taxi ride through NY, no tux, no expensive seats with bad sight-lines...just comfort and convenience and the thrill of live opera. Thanks again for the experience. Now if they could just get more light on the stage it would be perfect. Still too dark in the broadcast, but I guess that's what live broadcast is limited to.
While I loved the opera I was very disappointed in the screening due to annoying projection and
people around me who don't seem to grasp the situation. Throughout the entire film the projectionist left the light on in the booth and there was a large square of light dead center on the screen through the entire three act performance. At act three, he forgot to dim the house lights until a few minutes before the end of the opera, at which time they just went out. Poor excuse for such a screening.
People next to me were eating peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. bananas, cookies and canned cokes through the film as well. The woman produced these items from her large bag once the house lights dimmed for act one. I was appalled.
In all, it was a tough time enjoying the beautiful opera with so much distraction both from the audience and the projection. I'll try a different theater next time.
