I was holding my breath in some parts, cheering them on in others and crying a couple of times. This is a movie every American should see and will be thoroughly entertained by this movie. Men leave their families to risk their lives to rescue others, to prevent terrorist acts in this country. They are so connected as teams that it is planned in advance and they execute their missions with hand gestures and touch. I was so very touched and have never understood so fully what our troops risk out there protecting us. Go see this movie! Oh, and it is not for kids, some serious kill shots happen, lots of danger and stealth. ...(read more)

I liked it. I am not quite sure why a Hollywood version was necessary except maybe for people who just won't watch subtitles. The Swedish version was excellent and Noomi Rapace who played Lisbeth Salander in those movies embodied that character as I saw her in the book. In this Hollywood version Roony Mara played Lisbeth and also embodied her character well. Daniel Craig was perfect as Blomvquist. There are some things I would have liked to have seen, like the married woman he is having an affair with did visit him at the cabin while he was writing the book. Also the only casting choice that was not correct was the girlfriend Lisbeth was seeing who was Asian in the book. The Hollywood version has her as indeterminate race of whatever kind, not black, not Asian, not sure what. But I am picking it apart because I have read the books and seen the Swedish version. Stll, I do think this version did show very graphically the sexual abuse she suffered under her "caretaker." NOT for kids. ...(read more)

I will not see this. For one thing this story never happened. Why not tell stories of her that really happened? She has many stories. Why make up fiction? Second, I remember Marilyn. There is no one who can portray her that I have ever seen. She was one of a kind. Third, Marilyn brought women down, playing the breathy sex bomb, totally helpless and dependent on men. Tell her story but tell it as it was, not some imagined fantasy of what might have happened. Her story is much more interesting than this fiction. ...(read more)

I am a fan of the books and movies so my critique includes stuff like hair color: Rosalie did not even look like herself because her hair was so much darker. Edward's hair is darker, his eyebrows were extremely darkened. Carlysle's hair was weirdly styled AND darker. Yep, I notice these things. It is what you get with so many different directors. But all said, I liked it and plan to see it again. The wedding was beautiful, keep your eyes out for Stephenie Meyer in the audience. Bella's dress was far better than I had expected it might be. This is a more grown up movie as it should be. All have grown, in all ways. I would have liked it to be R rated and show more of the bed scenes but for PG13 it did okay and was beautiful. The baby was totally CGI and done very well. The wolves were too I think. This series of books is very hard to make into a movie so saying that, they have done well. The casting was critical and we have Catherine Hardwicke to thank. Stay for scene after credits. ...(read more)
