A somewhat interesting but slow moving story made more bearable by the easy to watch George Clooney. Worthy of the price of admission, but undeserving at every level to be included amoung the other nominees for best picture. Young boyfriend actor was a natural. Plot focused on poorly cast zero-chemistry actors, with the muppets playing a supporting role that never elevated them to the magic they once were. Musical/dance numbers were odd and forced. The catalytic genius of Jim Henson is clearly abscent. A sad disappointment at best. ...(read more)

Dreary, heavy handed, over directed, sappy story telling with a few worthwhile moments, but far too few to justify the time spent viewing it (the acid test of all entertainment). The treatment of the final scene, oddly the the worst in the movie, is emblematic of the over-the-top manipulation for effect.
