This movie is based on a novel, but for me, I have not read the book and it made me interested about it! I have to say that this movie definitely gives the audience two things: Smart. likable characters and philosophical ideas that are realistic. The main protagonist is a 16 year old male named Ethan Wate, who questions the things he sees and hears around him. He doesn't just settle for one thing when there are several things he doesn't understand or that there are several opinions on. My fiance and I both loved that and the girl, Lena, is just as aware as Ethan is. They learn from each other and grow into their love with strong feelings. The other characters are well-rounded when it came to conveying their role in both main characters' lives. The plot weaves in the idea that maybe our world isn't as accepting as we first think, but there is hope if people are willing to learn and accept other ideas, religions, and such. Acting was good, scenery was beautiful, and a definite must-see! ...(read more)

I went to see Hotel Transylvania with my fiance and my two younger siblings who are 7 and 6 years old. There are times when the movie gives some adult humor that the kids will not understand, but it has some cute scenes with cool-looking monsters that both kids and adults will enjoy. The cast was great for the voiceovers and overall good movie to spend the money on for the family. Two thumbs up! ...(read more)

I just saw Resident Evil in 3D a little earlier today and I gotta say...I was impressed with the new characters from the video games, and with the bad*** chicks in the movie. However, the 3D is not necessary to enjoy the film because majority of the film is non-stop action scenes anyway. I liked the movie overall, but didn't love it for two reasons: Albert Wesker being somewhat of a protagonist and the big kaboom moment at the end. Although I thought the camera angles and CGI were outstanding, the fact that in the plot, Albert Wesker is the polar opposite of what he is in the games was not expected nor highly liked by me. I won't give anything away, but when you see the movie, you will know what I mean. As far as the big kaboom moment at the end of the film.....one word: cliffhanger. Ugh......but what can we do, it's Resident Evil franchise. Overall, I'd give this film a B- , and for obvious reasons from the content and trailers, this movie is for ages 17+. ...(read more)

Okay, so first off, I need to clarify a few things for fans that the harsh critics don't realize: 1) All of the Christopher Nolan Batman movies, including this new one, follow the comics and tv shows to the max. I am in serious awe that a comic book movie series could be done so well. 2) The Dark Knight Rises is a FINALE, not a continuation of the story to lead to more sequels. TDKR is supposed to make the audience feel every emotion in the book so there's no question that this is the big WOW! and no one can do a better job. 3) This last installment of the Christopher Nolan Batman series involves characters that are either already established or are pretty simple to gather on both normal identity and alter ego sides. The focus is on the emotionally charged anticipation of the symbol that is Batman to make a dramatic comeback in a positive light to Gotham City. So I say this for those anticipating the movie: Epic characters + Epic Action + Epic Final Story = WIN! Two thumbs way up! ...(read more)
