Before The Avengers went ahead and destroyed all kinds of box office records this past weekend, director Joss Whedon was a cult superhero in his own right. He took to Whedonesque, an online community for Whedonettes, to thank fans new and old. Read the full letter below, including his plans to finally be able to finance his dream project – a reboot of Air Bud (he's kidding… we think).

Joss Whedon recently revealed in an interview that he'll add 30 minutes to his The Avengers when the film hits DVD and Blu-ray.
