PotterWell, the time has finally come Potter fans. As of midnight last night, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part I officially landed in theaters with a giant roar. Over 2200 shows were sold out prior to opening night, and while a couple other films are also in theaters (like The Next Three Days with Russell Crowe), it's pretty obvious that Harry Potter will easily take the weekend.

With Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part 1 set to invade theaters this weekend in the hopes of taking home one or two box office records, Mr. Potter is also on his way to staking his claim as the biggest movie franchise of all time. As of right now, the Star Wars films are in the lead with $1.9 billion in sales, though Harry Potter and his $1.7 billion is hot on their galactic tail.
