Chuck Davis
Chief Executive Officer
Chuck Davis is the CEO of Fandango, Inc, the nation's largest online,
phone and mobile movie ticketing service and a unit of Comcast Interactive Media.
One of the Web's top movie and entertainment destinations, Fandango sells tickets
to more than 15,000 screens.
Previous to joining Fandango, Davis led Shopzilla, Inc., formerly
BizRate.com, from its infancy to its recent status as the largest,
most profitable and fastest-growing comparison shopping site online,
with an index of more than 30 million products from more than
70,000 stores and the Web's most-trusted consumer feedback network.
Davis served as Shopzilla's president and chief executive officer
from 1999 (when the company was in its pre-revenue stage) to June
2005 (when it was acquired by the E.W. Scripps Company for $569
million). Under Davis' leadership, Shopzilla was one of the first
companies to spearhead a search engine cost-per-click model,
transforming the way retailers market their products online.
Prior to joining Shopzilla, Davis was president, e-Commerce for
The Walt Disney Company's Internet Group where he launched
profitable merchant and travel businesses including Disneystore.com
and Disneyvacations.com, which comprised all theme park and
travel businesses. Davis also managed all Disney Internet
advertising sales, marketing, and online subscription initiatives
from 1996-1998.
Davis' move to e-commerce was a natural evolution from his previous
direct marketing and publishing experience at News Corporation's
TV Guide. As senior vice president, Marketing, Davis directed the
consumer marketing and circulation groups for America's then-largest
magazine. While at News Corp, he also launched The Weekly Standard
magazine and oversaw the Murdoch Magazines' Distribution Division,
which distributed more than 60 client titles to retail distributors.
Previous to News Corp, Davis worked at Time Inc.'s Sports Illustrated
from 1986-1991 where he led the magazine's direct marketing,
television, and retention efforts.
Davis earned his BA from Brown University and MBA from Harvard
University. He serves as a Director on several Boards, including
Shop.org, Business.com, LeadPoint, Inc., and the Young Presidents'
Organization (YPO), Los Angeles Chapter. Previously he was elected
to serve on the board of the Audit Bureau of Circulations. In 2004
he won the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award in Los Angeles.
Rick Butler
Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer
Butler is responsible for managing Fandango's day-to-day operations,
including oversight of exhibitor relations, e-commerce and transaction processing,
product development,
corporate IT and MIS, theatre networking and customer support, and real
estate and facilities. Butler joined Fandango as its Vice President of
Operations and prior to his appointment as COO, held the position of Chief Information Officer.
As one of Fandango's original executives, he
brings over 20 years of leadership in media and internet
operations, technology solutions delivery and professional services to
its management team.
Before Fandango, Butler was Senior Vice President of
Operations for financialprinter.com, a privately funded Web-based
financial document services company providing secure on-line document
research, creation and editing, SEC compliant EDGAR II filing, and
printed and electronic distribution, where he was responsible for
product delivery, professional services, real estate assets and
facilities management.
He previously served as regional Vice President of Operations for
Bowne Business Solutions, an information-management outsourcing
provider to legal and financial institutions where he managed a
multi-state on-site and corporate document services group.
Butler began his career at R.R. Donnelley, where over a 12 year
period held several positions in the book and financial publishing
and printing groups in Indiana, Los Angeles, New York and San Francisco
from major account services to operations management. While at Donnelley,
Butler directed the western region startup of a demand print and fulfillment
business for its financial printing division, servicing the
investment and healthcare communities.
Christopher Cunningham
Vice President, Business Development
Cunningham oversees all of Fandango's business development initiatives.
He brings with him 17 years of diverse experience in business development,
strategic planning, corporate development and product management in digital
entertainment, technology, and new media. Throughout his career, Cunningham
has negotiated and structured technology partnerships with Fortune 500
companies as well as structured content and distribution partnerships with
broadcasters, studios, cable operators and satellite networks.
Cunningham most recently held the position of Vice President of Strategy &
Product Development for YaYa Media, Inc., a leading interactive entertainment
consultancy and agency. Prior to YaYa, he served as Vice President of Business
Development for Wink Communications, Inc., a leader in interactive television
services. Previously, he was Director of Business Development for DVR pioneer,
ReplayTV, Inc. Cunningham has also held a variety of senior management
positions with OpenTV, Inc. and Silicon Graphics, Inc.
Cunningham serves on the Board of Directors for the Cable and
Telecommunications Association for Marketing (CTAM-SV Chapter)
and is a member of the Interactive Television Alliance (ITA),
the Association for Interactive Media (AIM), the National Association
of Broadcasters (NAB), and the National Cable Television
Association (NCTA). He earned his master's of business administration
in Marketing and Entrepreneurial Management from The Wharton
School at the University of Pennsylvania where he was a Mayer
Scholar, and a bachelor's of science in Psychology with High
Distinction from Duke University.
Rajesh Duggal
Vice President, Finance/Controller
Duggal is responsible for Fandango's financial planning,
management and controls. He has worked for fourteen years in a
variety of industries, including financial services, automotive
and media/entertainment.
Prior to joining Fandango, Duggal served for five years at
Sony Pictures Entertainment where he was Executive Director of
Finance for International Television. During his tenure at SPE,
he was responsible for the design and development of a new financial
system supporting International Television operations. Previously,
he was a Manager at KPMG in their financial services sector where
he was responsible for audit and other transactional matters.
Prior to becoming a Chartered Accountant, Duggal earned his
master's (with Honors) in Management Science at Southampton
University (UK), and a bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering
(with Honors) from King's College, University of London (UK).
Bethany Ellis
Vice President, Human Resources
Ellis oversees all aspects of human resources, organizational
development and administration for Fandango. Ellis is
responsible for the design and implementation of the company's
human resources initiatives and policies, and is responsible for
providing each department with the personnel, guidance and support
necessary to achieve company-wide business objectives. She brings
to Fandango ten years of experience in human resources with an
emphasis in employee relations, recruiting, compensation, and
labor relations.
Prior to joining Fandango, Ellis was the National Director of
Human Resources for the Screen Actors Guild, where she served
the world's leading actors' union and its 350 staffers from its
Hollywood headquarters. Ellis began her professional career as
human resources coordinator for Sony Development and has also
worked Hilton Hotels Corporation and McCann-Erickson. Ellis
earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Theatre Arts from
Bennington College in Vermont and received her SPHR (Senior
Professional in Human Resources) certification in 1999.
Ted Hong
Vice President, Marketing
Hong leads Fandango's marketing and public relations initiatives.
He brings nearly 15 years of business experience in marketing,
strategy and general management from small start ups to $200MM
global brands. He joined Fandango in 2003 as director of marketing,
overseeing brand strategy, marketing planning and execution,
co-marketing, offline and online advertising, market research
and new business evaluation. He was instrumental in launching
the nationally-recognized Fandango Bag Puppet advertising campaign.
Prior to Fandango, he was a head of marketing for the .TV Corporation,
a web identity services provider acquired by Verisign Inc. in 2003.
At .TV Hong led marketing efforts for the international and wholesale
divisions of the company.
Hong also spent several years at Nestle USA in brand management
for the Chocolate and Confections division on the Butterfinger
brand and the Halloween and Valentine's Day seasonal businesses.
He also has experience in management consulting for Gemini
Consulting, non-profit management for the California Alumni
Association and professional sports for the Golden State Warriors.
Hong received his MBA from the Kellogg School of Management
at Northwestern University and a BA in Political Economy from
UC Berkeley.
Dan Mohler
Vice President, Sales
Mohler is responsible for increasing revenues through strategic
partnerships with national major advertisers and increase
partnerships in other categories including automotive,
telecommunications and package goods. He brings more than 20
years of sales and sales management experience in traditional
and non-traditional media.
Prior to joining Fandango, Mohler was director of sales for
the Western Region of the Ticketmaster Media Group. His
team represented Ticketmaster, Ticketmaster.com, Match.com,
Citysearch.com and Evite.com to companies throughout the West
including Microsoft, Toyota and majority of the movie studios.
Previously, he led sales teams at Excite@Home, Firstlook.com
and Launch. Mohler started his career with The Weather
Channel when it first launched and played a significant
role in their sales organization for 14 years. He opened
the Western Region, leading a team that represented The
Weather Channel and The Travel Channel cable networks and
web sites.
Mohler earned a bachelor of science in communications from
Miami University in Oxford, Ohio.
Daniel V. Murray
Chief Financial Officer
Murray oversees the financial management of Fandango, as well as
playing a key role in the company's strategic operations, business
intelligence, business plans, financial affairs and administrative
functions. He reports directly to Chuck Davis, Chairman and CEO
of Fandango.
Murray was formerly the CFO and SVP of Operations for Academy123, a
venture-funded start-up that provides online math homework help for
students of all ages. Less than two years into the company's
operations, Academy123 was acquired by Discovery Communications,
the leading global real-world and knowledge-based media company.
Prior to joining Academy123, Murray was VP of International Finance
at Yahoo! where he was responsible for both Finance and
Controllership functions for the company's international business
units, representing 26% of total company revenues. Murray's expertise
in leading Internet companies was honed at Overture, the
Pasadena-based pioneer of pay-for-performance search services, which
was acquired by Yahoo! in 2003 for $1.63 billion.
Prior to Overture, Murray worked for fifteen years in the consumer
products and financial services industries. Part of this time,
Murray lived in China where he worked as an executive for The Quaker
Oats Company. Murray holds an MBA from the Kellogg Graduate School
of Management, a BS in Finance from Penn State University, and is a
Certified Public Accountant.
Stacey Olliff
Senior Vice President, Legal and Business Affairs
Olliff oversees legal matters, business affairs, corporate development
and corporate governance for Fandango, reporting directly to Chairman
and CEO Chuck Davis. From 2000-2006, Olliff was General Counsel of
Shopzilla, Inc., the Web's largest, most profitable and fastest-growing
comparison shopping site, and where Davis also served as CEO from 1999 to
2005. Previous to Shopzilla, Olliff practiced corporate and transactional
law for over 20 years at Ervin, Cohen & Jessup LLP in Beverly Hills, CA,
where he represented numerous companies and entrepreneurs involved in a
variety of entertainment-related businesses, including film studios,
recording studios, entertainment executives and artists.
Olliff graduated cum laude from the Harvard Law School in 1978, where
he was Articles Editor of the Harvard Journal on Legislation, after receiving
his bachelor's degree summa cum laude from the University of Central Florida
in 1974. Following law school and until 1981, he practiced banking and
finance law at the firm of Morrison & Foerster in San Francisco and Los
Angeles.
Olliff is a member of the American, California, Los Angeles, and Beverly
Hills Bar Associations, and the Association for Corporate Counsel (ACC),
and currently serves on the Executive Committee of the Corporate Law
Departments Section and the Commercial Law Committee of the Commercial
Law and Bankruptcy Section of the Los Angeles County Bar Association.
He has also served on the Board of Trustees and as Chair of the Business
and Corporations Law Section of the Los Angeles County Bar Association,
and as Chair of the Corporations Committee of the Business Law Section
of the California Bar Association.
Shane O'Neill
Chief Technology Officer
O'Neill is responsible for Fandango's website engineering, performance and
availability, and additionally for internal software development,
quality assurance, and technology selection. He brings nearly 15
years of relevant experience developing and delivering Web based
direct marketing and customer acquisition solutions.
Prior to joining Fandango, O'Neill worked in a variety of technology
roles in companies ranging in size and maturity from start-ups
to those in the Fortune 500. Most recently he served as the Chief
Technology Officer and Vice President for Synapse Group, Inc.
(a TimeWarner company) focusing on enterprise architecture,
application development and new product offerings. There, O'Neill
built highly customizable systems in order to acquire customers
for some of the largest brands in the publishing industry
(including Time, Newsweek, and People) through co-branded
relationships with hundreds of America's most trusted brands
(i.e. Amazon, Citibank, American Express, American Airlines,
and AOL to name a few).
Before Synapse, O'Neill held positions at Warnaco Group, Inc
(a large apparel manufacturer), and Owens Corning. He worked
on a variety of projects for both companies building web applications
which increased efficiency in the sales process and created greater
visibility into customer behaviors and the financials of the company
through advanced reporting technologies. O'Neill started his career
at the age of 20 developing technology solutions for ExpressBill
(now a WebMD company).
Robert Peralta
Vice President, Operations
Peralta is responsible for Fandango's website content operations,
product management, Customer Support, and Exhibitor Services. One
of Fandango's original employees, he brings over 20 years of experience
in technology and product management to the Fandango executive team.
Prior to joining Fandango, Peralta was Director of Project Management
for BizBuyer.com, a CMGI-funded request-for-quote website for small
business, where he was responsible for implementing project processes
and ongoing technology project management.
Peralta began his career at Citicorp/Citigroup, where over a 13 year
period he held positions in electronic product development and project
management for Citicorp's businesses in New York, Los Angeles, Chicago,
and London, England. Peralta was instrumental in creating a common
application platform for Citicorp's international ATM network, and
for consolidating front-end applications across Citicorp's European
businesses. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Computer
Applications & Information Systems and in Marketing from New York
University's Stern School of Business in 1985.
Peter Phillips
Vice President, Product Development
Phillips leads the strategic planning, development, and ongoing management
of all product-related initiatives for Fandango. He oversees Fandango.com,
an award-winning website, Fandango's voice recognition service (1-800-FANDANGO),
its TiVo application, and wireless platform (mobile.fandango.com).
Phillips joined Fandango in October of 2002, serving as the company's Director,
and later, Senior Director, Marketing & Product Development. In each of his Fandango roles,
he has helped lead the company's product strategy and managed all of its tactical
execution. In addition, Phillips helped spearhead several key partnerships
and manage high-profile distribution relationships.
Phillips brings with him fifteen years of marketing and product development
experience, focused primarily in the entertainment industry. At Viacom's
Paramount Pictures, Phillips served the studio for six years in the marketing
department, serving as Marketing Manager and then Director of Spot Broadcast
Advertising for the Features Division, working on some of the studio's most
successful releases of the '90s. Phillips also served as the head of marketing
for Lineup.com, a broadband content syndication company, and as an independent
marketing consultant for an advertising agency and several local startup firms.
Phillips has an MBA from UCLA's Anderson School of Management and graduated
Phi Beta Kappa from Rice University with a BA in Psychology.
