Save Your Money, Skip The IMAX Version

Though advertised as an IMAX-3D Experience, the quality was flat out sub-par. The movie itself was wonderfully animated (though WAY too scary for younger children), and I enjoyed the movie.

BUT, at least at the IMAX theatre I saw it in (Opry Mills, Nashville TN), the sound was too loud, the picture was muddy (especially for an IMAX film), and there were "ghost" images behind the 3-D effects if you were not looking directly at the screen.

Flecks of dust that had attached to the film were giant sized on the IMAX screen, like bugs on a windshield that block your view.

The movie is well worth it, but save your money on the IMAX version ($15 at Opry Mills) --- see it in a regular 3-D theatre and use the money you'll save on concessions.

    A Christmas Carol - IMAX 3D

Maybe from seeing A Christmas Carol at the Goodman Theater, I was a bit disappointed. The Goodman dressed up the ghosts gorgeously like in red velvet robes w/ white sable fur. I thought the movie was creative yet too dismal. Not enough color and somewhat scary and grusome for small children. When I read that the movie was 1 hr. and 36 minutes, I thought that was going to be too short. But even after an hour, I ready to go. But I look back on the experience and think to myself that I should have known better. Jim Carrey is one strange dude and the movie really fit. It is a must experience tho, don't get me wrong.

    sick and very disturbing!

I cannot believe Disney would put out a movie like this! My kids broke down in tears when the ghost of Christmas present died and the two UGLY people popped out!. I wouldn't call this a Christmas movie. It's more like a macab thriller. It was very hard to follow. My kids kept asking what was going on during the movie. The only good part of this movie was the last 3 min. I would rather watch grass die than watch this movie!.
